Common Issues & Fixes
Quick reference for field inspectors. If a problem continues, escalate through your normal site support process then email [email protected].

|---|---|---|
| App won't connect | Bluetooth is off, permissions were denied, or phone is too far from adapter | Turn on Bluetooth, confirm app permissions, stay within ~3 ft, reopen app if needed |
| No scan starts | Vehicle is not started, or adapter is not fully seated | Start the vehicle, re-seat the ULTRA adapter, retry Advanced Scan |
| Scan is slow | Some vehicles have 100+ ECUs and require more time | Wait for completion. Do not unplug adapter or leave the area mid-scan |
| Bluetooth interference | Other vehicles being scanned too close (<15 ft apart) | Use 3 ft max distance to active device, maintain 10+ ft between concurrent scans |
| Results not available | Scan was not fully saved | Tap Complete, confirm save, then open Scan Results and select saved report |
✅ Do This
- • Stay close to the vehicle during scan (Bluetooth range ~3 ft)
- • Expect some vehicles to take longer — more ECUs to read
- • Confirm scan is COMPLETE & unplug adapter before leaving
- • Avoid Bluetooth noise from other devices nearby
⚠️ Use Caution
- • Do not deny app permissions on first launch
- • Do not leave the inspection area during an active scan
- • Do not use Clear Code casually on vehicles with aftermarket programming
- • Clearing codes may remove stored settings or custom programming
